Roger has practiced and taught meditation for more than fifty years, on every continent, and leads Gaja’s Meditation & Mindfulness Instructor Certification.
Roger Gabriel, known to many students by his spiritual name Raghavanand, is Gaja Collective’s Director of Meditation Programs and the lead educator of its Meditation & Mindfulness Instructor Certification. Born in Liverpool, England, he began practicing meditation in 1972 and was trained as a meditation teacher by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1973, the start of what is now more than fifty years of practice and teaching.
In the mid-1980s Roger helped establish centers for Ayurveda and meditation, and in 1993 he relocated to San Diego, where he spent decades as a master educator with one of the most recognized mind-body wellness organizations in the world, assisting with its training programs, seminars, and workshops and serving on its certification advisory board. Over that time he has taught meditation to thousands of people on every continent and helped train hundreds of meditation, Ayurveda, and yoga teachers.
Roger’s teaching draws on meditation, mantra, Vedic philosophy, Ayurveda, chanting, and sound. He received his spiritual name in 2006 from Shree Satuwa Baba Maharaji of Varanasi, and when time permits he leads pilgrimage tours in India.
At Gaja he leads the Meditation & Mindfulness Instructor Certification, teaches in the Ayurveda and Coaching programs, and guides students through the Meditation & Mindfulness Foundations course. He lives in Florida.
